I have just posted a blog about having no time - or wondering where the time goes. To a degree I am about to slightly contradict myself, but here goes. Sometimes life just makes you do that.
On Monday morning I heard of the tragic death of a good friend of mine, Derry Wilkinson, who ran an agency in London that we worked closely with. He was killed pursuing one of his passions - motorcycling. I was only with him a couple of weeks ago, sharing a coffee and hearing of his plans to conquer the world.
This is not a post about Derry and the sadness of his passing, it's about learning from it and taking out some positives.
We only get one chance on this earth and we must all make sure we give it our best shot. I am not saying be reckless, I am just saying make sure you get the balance right and fit in some time for yourself, as well as your family and friends.
Work is important, as it allows us to do the things we enjoy. But remember, nobody will be on their deathbed and utter the words "I wish I had stayed longer at the office".
So work smarter and make sure you enjoy what's out there.
