Forget Brainstorming, BARNSTORMING is where prego*s at [08.02.07]

Proud to be here

Otley-based integrated creative agency, prego* is planning to take a slice of Yorkshire creativity to the streets of London. The “Barnstorming tour”, will offer free creative consultation sessions to companies in need of stimulation and who fancy trying things the prego* way.

The idea was spawned when the flow of ideas stalled and staff swapped the company’s converted-mill offices for the neighbouring barn of the Llama farm to gain inspiration. The unusual surroundings created great results, and prego* coined the term ‘Barnstorming’.

Now prego* is taking its idea to the major cities of the land – as a tongue-in-cheek way to tackle the perceived London-centric view that the best creative work is produced in the capital.

A recreation of the barn – minus the animals – is being built in the back of a mobile motor home, complete with straw, wooden doors and water troughs. Free creative sessions will be arranged between companies, journalists, and the senior prego* team.

Steve Henry, prego* Managing Director, said: “We firmly believe that great creative work is influenced by your surroundings. Being based in the countryside undoubtedly shapes the work we produce, and we’re keen to take our techniques to the capital, and show them that there is another way to do things!

“It’s a bit of fun, but the idea is to try and break pre-conceptions. Most people are extremely busy nowadays and so we thought we would make the effort and take our skills to their doorstep.”

prego*, formed in 2002, is based in Otley, Leeds. It has annual billings of £2.5m, with clients including BUPA, Littlewoods and William Hill.
